Case 1: Dilated ducts with calcifications
Case 2: Debris fill the lumina. Macrophages line the dilated duct.
Foamy macrophages fill the dilated lumen.
Duct ectasia is characterized by dilation of ducts with amorphous debris and foamy macrophages filling the limona. Calcifications, fibrosis, periductal inflammation with prominent plasma cells are common associated features.
Can present with nipple discharge and occasionally a mass lesion.
